PHOENIX, AZ.— The happy faces of military families shined as brightly as the Arizona sun this past Sunday, when 1,250 U.S. Marines and their families gathered at Luke Air Force Base for the USMC Family Day.
Sponsored by USO Arizona, the event took place from 11:30 am until 3:00 pm, and gave attendees the opportunity to enjoy free food, drinks, and games. Inventure Foods, the makers of Poore Bros. and Boulder Canyon potato chips, provided bags of chips for every attendee; Fry’s Food Stores provided drinks, ice, cookies, and brownies. For lunch, Pizza Hut catered cheese and pepperoni pizzas.
An inflatable obstacle course, jumper, wrecking ball, and football game kept younger guests entertained, as well as face painting and a cake walk. For the more competitive, a rock climbing wall was set up.
Aside from the fun and games, U.S. Marines and their families enjoyed and exploring military Humvees, trucks, and other displayed vehicles. A drawing for prizes and a raffle took place later in the day.
Undoubtedly, USMC Family Day was a success, and it gave Arizona service members a chance to relax and enjoy the deserved rewards of serving their country.
